Eat Like You Give a Damn About Yourself

Being highly sensitive, I know what people are thinking, even if they don’t say it.  When it comes to female jealousy, few things get under my skin more quickly.  I really have to check myself to not get defensive inside.

Sometimes I just want to say to these women who give me dirty looks, why are you looking at me when I’m only reflecting the truth about you?  Like, do you know how hard I work to keep myself in shape and how many times I say no to things I would love to put in my mouth but I’ve learned the hard way that I shouldn’t?  I tell you what, NOTHING tastes as good as being able to walk up a flight of stairs without getting winded.  Fitting into clothes and feeling good about my body tastes better than any cheeseburger or chocolate cake.  I had to learn that the hard way.

I see these people running down the streets, going to the gym religiously, beating their bodies into shape.  I know people who workout daily and they work out hard, too, but for reasons they don’t understand, they still can’t reach their ideal weight.

How many ways can it be said, your health begins in the kitchen.  You can work out all you want, but if you are feeding yourself garbage, that’s what you’re going to get back.  People spend billions on weight management when it really is as basic as educating yourself about food.  Simply put, if it doesn’t grow, you shouldn’t eat it.  If you can’t pronounce it, your body probably won’t be able to translate it, either.  Too much garbage is sold to the public labeled as “food”.  Especially in the States.

I started this post because a friend of mine posted a selfie of us and I felt a psychic attack of jealousy from one of our mutual friends.  Someone who has been in business selling health supplements but who is really unhappy with their appearance.  While I totally understand this person’s experience and feelings, don’t be looking at my picture and judging me just because I look like I do.  We have too many big problems in the world to be feeding that kind of negativity.  Besides, I’ve worked hard to get here and I maintain my weight because I love myself.  It’s a good thing for me and it is within your power to do the same!  People don’t realize how much their subconscious thinking affects the consciousness of energy.  I don’t deserve to be attacked for any reason.  People really need to stop looking outside of themselves and comparing themselves then judging themselves by what they see.

Empowerment means you take responsibility and change your life because you want to do it for you.  Each of us has to come to this conclusion for ourselves.  Each of us has more power than we give ourselves credit for.  We continually give our power to other people when we agree with beliefs that don’t serve us.  This is about more than just aesthetics.  This is about the kind of reality we want to live in.  If people really want to have world peace and live in unity, they have to create it themselves.  The way to do that is to create that peace and unity within your own mind and life.  Only then can you extend that out toward other people.  We are creating this reality.  This world is like it is because we agree with it, our parents created it and now we are sustaining it.  It’s time to ask ourselves what the hell we are doing.  Are we being compassionate to ourselves and everyone around us, or are we hating ourselves and everyone around us?

Ironically, food may be the among the answers we are all looking for.  Food brings people together, it sustains and nourishes us, it is entertaining and beautiful.  It is mentioned many times in the Bible in connection with many moral lessons.  Think about it.  Could what we are feeding ourselves and our children be the solution to mankind’s problems? Maybe not the only one, but it’s definitely something to consider.
